Google Nexus One Launched!

Google brings out new strong competition to Apple’s Iphone. The new Android officially launched just yesterday is called NeXus One. Packed with its own tricks, Nexus One comes with a good looking design, a tad thinner, narrower and lighter than its competitor from Apple. Not only in design, but also in terms of performance, Nexus One is a step ahead with a better resolution - 3.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen WVGA AMOLED touch screen at 800 x 480 pixels, a 5MP photo camera and 720×480 video resolution at 20fps. It comes with a Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz processsor, but unfortunately only 512MB RAM and 4GB Micro SD Card (Expandable to 32 GB).

Google is trying to broaden its ascendancy in Internet usage and ads to mobile phones. In 2008, In association with HTC and T-Mobile, Google introduced the first phone running its Android software. Since then, approximately 20 handsets running Android have been announced.

The device is built in collaboration with HTC Corp. and is for the moment being sold solely online directly by Google online costing 530 US dollars unlocked (370 euro) www.google.com/phone.

Google practically took the best features of the existing phones on the market, and added others to push the limit. Beside numerous eye-candy like live wallpaper, an eye-catching zoom effect, and thumbnails of your 5 main screens, a much more polished interface than the previous versions of Droid, they also improved the 3D capabilities of Snapdragon by implementing a new 3d framework. A very interesting function is the voice-activation over any textbox present on the device. Also, Google’s Navigation application tends to be a near-total GPS substitute.

The new Nexus One shows that Google’s phone has improved, not only in appearance but in functionality, too and maybe they were right, to say yesterday at the official launch, that Nexus One is not a smartphone, but a SuperPhone.
