A freely walking robot is being developed to emulate a soldier in protective clothing. The Protection Ensemble Test Mannequin (PETMAN for short), is being developed by Boston Dynamics for US Army tests regarding chemical protection clothing. The robot will be able to generally move freely like a human being (crawling, walking), while being exposed to chemical warfare agents.
