The gaming industry has its course of development, with new additions becoming available both hardware and software related. Being a fast-growing environment, the gaming industry firstly finds its way among the internet pages, in the form of rumors. That being said, despite all the rumors about new consoles like xbox 720 and playstation 4, it seems that these consoles will skip 2012, and will probably be available in the years to come.
Regarding the new xbox 720, that was rumored to become available in 2012, official information tends to disagree, as the director of Microsoft France explicitly stated that the next generation xbox 720 will not be available this year. The project requires further development in order to become the final product and therefore it need more time to reach its completion.
As for the playstation 4 console, rumors seem to be inconsistent as well and official information regarding playstation 4 that came from the CEO of SonyFranceclearly mentions that playstation 4 project will not be achievable this year. Much like xbox 720, playstation 4 needs further development in order to obtain the required standards for the manufacturer and the users world-wide.
Even though xbox 720 and playstation 4 will not be released in 2012, it looks like Nintendo has something in store for us, as they plan to push the Wii U to be available by the end of the year.
Given the fact that the last generation of consoles is getting older as time passes, new features tend to overcome the consoles ability to perform at optimal levels. Therefore, consoles like xbox 720 and playstation 4 come as a necessity to the entertainment section, and the sooner those are released, the better.
Also, it needs to be considered that the economic crisis of the world is making itself noticeable even at this point, and this also represents a factor in the delay of certain projects, such as the playstation 4 and xbox 720 consoles. As always, patience is required on both sides (manufacturer and user) in order to obtain the best product as quickly as possible.
There could be a good side to these delays, as the longer it takes to release a project, the better it becomes once released: less bugs, better performance and even better optimizations for the future features that are to be included during the next years of development. Since Wii U will become available in 2012, stay tuned for more news regarding consoles, maybe even leaked information about consoles like playstation 4 and xbox 720.
