Apple has just announced that the device will be available in an unlocked version in November and thus all those who intend to acquire the smartphone will have the possibility to get it without a contract.
The news comes immediately after the company has made unlocked iPhone 4S available for pre-order in countries like France where you can pre-order the 16GB version of the phone for 629 euros, the 32GB version for 739 euros and the 64GB version for 849 euros. These versions can be pre-ordered for the same amount of money in Germany as well. In UK, you will have to pay £499, £599 and £699, respectively.
You can also get the iPhone 4S on Sprint, Verizon or AT&T. Apple adds more information about the unlocked version by saying that: “The unlocked iPhone works only on supported GSM networks, such as AT&T in the U.S. When you travel internationally, you can also use a micro-SIM card from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone 4 will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.”
Besides the options already mentioned, users will have the possibility to get the phone with a T-mobile two-year contract for £25.45 a month and pay £239.99 for the device. Orange also comes with some options and these include: £309 for the 16GB version of the device with a two-year contract and £20 a month, £449 for the 32GB version and £519.99 for the 64GB version on the same contract.
