Steve Jobs As Person Of The Year

You may recall that Time Magazine recently named Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg as “Person of the Year”. While that is the award most eyes will turn to, there are still plenty of other prestigious magazines out there.

Just because I finished my studies in economy let’s call Financial Times as the second most important out there. I have no idea what the ranking actually includes, but in terms of “Person of the Year” award situations, I think that’s pretty accurate.

Steve Jobs Person of the Year

Actually, I’m only saying this because for Financial Times, their “Person of the Year” award winner is Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs. The “Person of the Year” award holder at the Financial Times is selected by a special panel of experts.

In reality, the hereby panel is made up of Financial Times’ senior editors. Even so, their “Person of the Year” award has never gone without some form of credit being attributed to the winner.

Previous winners of the Financial Times “Person of the Year” award include U.S. president Barrack Obama, an Indian steel magnate called Lakshmi Mittal and Jean-Claude Trichet. If you haven’t heard of the latter you should know that he is president of the European Central Bank.

So in order to win Financial Times’ Person of the Year you must have made a memorable stamp on history, saved a continent from financial downfall or make a lot of money.

I wonder into which category Steve Jobs fits over here…

Anyway, let’s congratulate the man that basically revived Apple and incidentally, the same man that made money by the truckload in the process. He is the father of the iPhone and the iPad which are momentous achievements for Apple.

It’s just that this Zuckerberg guy is so annoying, he won the big award, the one that Time Magazine handed out and Apple’s CEO now has to “make do” with a different “Person of the Year” title.

Sheesh, life is so cruel to the filthy rich that I’m willing to swap places with them. I promise not to care whatever “Person of the Year” award I win or even if I don’t win at all.
