Google + is changing other products of the brand

We already know that Google +, the leading search engine company’s social network is changing the face of Facebook and pushing them to launch new products, but what else is it doing?

Apparently, the latest hope in social networking for Google is even changing some other parts of Google itself.

Heading the list of pushover products Google plans to change is the company’s blogging platform (Blogger) and their photo editing and sharing software (Picasa).

Though rumors tell us the future names will be quite unimaginative, they will have two things as a main goal.

One of them would be improving of brand recognition for Google’s secondary products and the other would be better integration with the “up and coming” Google + social network.

Curios about the new names Google + will force upon Picasa and Blogger? Okay then, they are going to be Google Photos and Google Blogs respectively.

It probably won’t matter to most users and the name/branding change will, most likely, help Google’s identity as well as their products. The downside however is that many users have already expressed discontent at Google’s decision despite it not being made yet.

The outrage most likely comes from those who still remember the initial days of both Blogger and Picasa.

Google didn’t invent the two products but acquired them in 2003 and, respectively, in 2004. Despite several changes and updates from Google’s employees, some people aren’t willing to let go of the identity these products have.

Given the situation, it seems like Google + is actually making Google stronger rather than seeing things going the other way. After all, it seems like apart from those who criticize the unimaginative naming, Google is only annoying those who aren’t willing to adopt change.
