By Samsung has announced that it would bring flexible displays in 2012. The industry-leading smartphone manufacturer intends to come up with a twist in what the display technology is concerned.
Samsung now plans to bring flexible smartphones in the year to come. As Samsung’s vice president of investor relations, Robert Yi has stated, the company hopes to be delivering devices with flexible screens in the first part of 2012.
The first devices to feature this kind of screens will be the smartphones. Then other products like tablets will get the flexible display. Samsung will be able to offer bendable screens thanks to the acquisition the company has made.
Samsung purchased Liquivista in the first month of this year. Liquivista is a company that specializes in flexible elctronic displays. A bendable display has been presented at Nokia World 2011.
The device was demonstrated as a method for interaction with onscreen content. You just have to twist the flexible display to zoom in and then twist it in the opposite direction to zoom out.
