Samsung Flexible Display Technology Phones And Tablets 2012

An ingenious new concept is currently under development by Samsung. This new project is based on an idea that could change the world’s understanding regarding smartphones, tablets and almost any iDevice that can be found on the market in the present.

The new generation of smartphones is designed to use flexible displays, twistable tablets and other new concepts. The new technology is believed to be implemented in 2012, as stated by Robert Yi, one of Samsung’s spokesmen, validating the reports presented in PC world web site.

Samsung’s intended to use the new OLED flexible screens for quite some time now. The information first came out in June 2011, presenting the projects for the next year. With prototypes existing since 2010, when Samsung presented some concepts that could have this technology embedded, it was only a matter of time until mass production could begin. Recently, Samsung presented a phone concept with clamshell casing that had an amazing AMOLED panel.

At this early stage of the project, assumption is that clamshells may be the format that the new Samsung iDevices would take.

Nokia may prove to be the existing competition when it comes to flexible display technology ever since their presentation of a prototype similar to the one Samsung is working on.

In order to gain success in this project, a number of issues must be solved: a flexible battery that meets the needs of such a device needs to be perfected, flexible circuit board and basically all the flexible components will need to be redesigned and perfected. Only with these problems solved could such an iDevice work at high standards.
