Apple’s products have almost always been a love or hate thing and that’s a good thing. It’s the sort of thing that has people talking about Apple products almost constantly.
In this sort of situation, basically what’s happening is that you get a lot of free publicity. Couple that with products that are fairly capable and some seriously aggresive marketing and you’ve got the winning formula.
That’s how Steve Jobs and Co got themselves to selling big. In the process, Apple made about $6 Billion in profits over the past three months. At some points I guess it becomes annoying to talk about how much money some rich people are making doesn’t it?
Not really, apart from Steve Jobs’ ever increasing fortune, there are many others who benefit on the behalf of Apple’s profit margins. In the case of the company’s stock holders lots of champagne corks have been popped.
Throughout the process of making this much profit, the Apple company stock has quadrupled over the past two years. Apart from this situation, the last quarter had quite the impact on sales.
Starting fall 2010 and ending in December of the year that just ended, Apple’s bank may have gained billions but when it comes to extra sales numbers, the gains reached millions.
Getting down to the actual figures, this period saw Apple sell 4.13 million Macs making for a 23% rise year-on-year and when it came to counting sold iPhones, we got to 16.24 million, making for a jump of 86%.
Guess Apple’s launch of the iPhone 4 made quite the impact. So did the launch of the Apple iPad which managed some 7.33 million.
The most popular of Apple products, the iPod, didn’t really take part in the celebrations with the similar impact as it’s sales fell by 7% only to reach some 19.45 million units.
Sadly, at the mist of such succes, Mr. Jobs’ health issues seem to have taken a turn for the worse. It’s recently been noted that the big man at Apple has taken a leave of absence for medical issues. As a reminder, back in 2004 he’s had an operation for pancreatic cancer.
He revisited hospital facilities some time between 2008 and 2009 as Jobs also had a liver transplant. In hoping for better medical condition for him, Apple fans wish him a speedy recovery.
