It seems that the idea of this new and interesting game first appeared in Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport where there were some small blue bottles painted inside men’s urinals. The reason was given by airport designers who claimed that having men aim at something while doing their business will make them not leave too much mess on the floor.

Interesting enough, a British company decided to take this one step further by designing a urinal with a video screen inside it. The video screen provides a game to men, which needs left and right “aiming” to actually steer a snowboarder that goes down a slope. The company has needed four years to develop the system.
The good news is that existing porcelain urinals will not need any modifications that imply a sledgehammer. A clip-on LED screen needs to be placed on the top of the urinal while a motion sensor will be aimed down to the messy area of the urinal. Disagreeable cleaning tasks will be reduced to a minimum because of the fact that the system does not use any liquid sensors or even cameras.
When it comes to the hygiene effects this system will have, Captive Media, the makers of this game, claim that it will definitely make men aim in to the wanted direction. The LED screen comes with a 12 inch display that presents the game after a quick advert. The system won’t be installed by pub-owners for fun. Hence, the advert.
Men can choose from three games: the one with the snowboarder, an interesting version of Atari’s Breakout and a quiz. A high score table is on the spot too but it is not sure if it shows an actual score for skills or just for endurance. Brits will have almost 90 percent of their urinals improved with this system designed to replace common advert found on top of the urinal.
The name of the quiz is, ‘surprisingly’, Clever Dick. The high score table will probably need men to hold some their ‘business’ in if they want to put their name in the Hall of Fame. Obviously, the system was designed to resist in a hostile environment. Therefore, it has toughened glass and it is waterproof and shockproof. Until now, drinkers from a pub in Cambridge have had the opportunity to try them, but the rest of Britons will get it in the near future as well.
