By iPad 3 is expected to be released in March next year according to the the Japanese blog site, Macotakara. If we’re to take this into account, Apple’s next iPad will enter production soon. That’s because the celebrations of the Chinese New Year will last from 22 to 28 January. So, the factories in China are now trying to finish the iPad 3 production by the end of the first month of 2011.
Taking the source as a reliable one, the next generation iPad will feature a different dock connector that would only lead to incompatibility issues. This will come with the same number of pins but with a smaller shape. In this case, the redesigned dock connector will not be compatible with the existing products that plug into the dock.
The same source claims that iPad 3 will come with the same screen size. Still, there are no details related to the Retina Display. Not too many rumors have had iPad 3 as the core topic. Those existing point to a 2,048×1,536 Retina Display that would make the device resemble iPhone 4 and 4S as well as iPod Touch 4G.
Let’s see the features that are expected to come with iPad 3:
- Camera Flash: Since people have expected a camera flash in iPad2 and didn’t get one, then iPad 3 is expected to feature one.
- Retina Display: As mentioned earlier, this is probably the feature that people expect the most. iPad 2 was expected to bring such a display but no, it didn’t. So, people now hope that iPad 3 would come up with Retina Display.
- Thunderbolt: The few rumors related to the next-generation iPad have pointed to a Thunderbolt port. Thus, data, video and power connectivity would be possible with the same connector. Plus, all this would only provide connectivity at lighting speed.
- SD Card Slot: iPad fans and users hope that iPad 3 would come with SD card slot.
- Wireless Synchronize: iPad 3 is expected to come up with content wireless synch instead of the wired connectivity.
- New HDMI: Since a digital AV adapter is needed to use HDMI in iPad 2, the next iPad is believed and expected to feature an HDMI port. This would spare people from using additional HDMI cables.
As to the launch date of the next generation iPad, it is believed that this one would come in March next year. And that’s because the original iPad was unveiled in April 2011 and iPad 2 in April 2011. This would only make March the release month of iPad 3.
Still, if the device is to come with the A6 processor, then March seems to be quite early for iPad 3 to be launched. This will push the launch back to June, 2012.
