It seems that recently, the news I find interesting are mostly related to some authority from the United States.
Even so, I’m not going to back this off. Here’s the deal, the U.S. legislators are soon going to face off their biggest enemy yet, the Internet.
Alright, I admit it’s not that bad a deal but the info behind it is as real as it gets. The U.S. legislators will be faced with the crucial, yet controversial net neutrality rules.
The net neutrality rules are supposed to further boost the Internet’s progress by making it finally open.
The actual net neutrality rules will pretty much be no more than a thorn in the side of phone and cable companies.
I say this because the U.S. net neutrality rules are supposed to stop these companies from blocking or discriminating against internet traffic over their broadband networks.
One of the promoters of Internet neutrality in the U.S. is Mr. Julius Genachowski. Genacowski is the head of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and he sent out drafts of the rules already.
Things aren’t however just as simple as that, before the Internet openness occurs these rules will be refined and will have to pass voting.
That last part about voting will be the biggest hurdle to overcome. As with anything new and controversial, American politicians tend to be difficult to convince of it.
This is definitely the case, as votes will be difficult to gather. Until the FCC gets everything together we’ll just have to watch Republicans and Democrats debate it.
