First of all, I’m going to apologize for once again covering something from Blizzard. Second of all, you know what, forget the apologies; people need to know what’s going on with Diablo III.
Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime was present at an Activision conference, something related to the sort of money the Blizzard subsidiary is pumping out and the press wasn’t really ready to miss an opportunity.
A few quick questions came about the Diablo III beta starting and, more importantly the actual release date of the incredibly long awaited RPG game.
I have to tell you, as the big man kind of stuttered the hearts of several journalists stopped and our leaked release date for Diablo III seems less and less probable.
Getting back to the actual press confrontation, it seems like Diablo III falls within a Blizzard tradition to take their time and push back titles as far as they need in order to come up with a very well produced product.
To that end, all we know about Diablo III is that Blizzard is not ready to admit a delivery period but that they are struggling to make it happen before the end of 2011.
I suppose that kind of explains why there’s very little stuff available on the Diablo III beta. Rumor had it that it was to begin sometime this month but all we know now is that Blizzard wants it done sometime in the third quarter.
After that sort of ambiguity how can one maintain hopes of Diablo III coming out onto the market on time?
Not even a very manic player of Lord of Destruction like me can do it but there’s another thing to say here. I really hope it is delayed or horrible.
If the uncertainty isn’t enough and if Diablo III will be just as good as I think it will, I’m going to be likely to lose my job, any chance of a real life or whatever else one may want.
