The most important launch of the year, from Apple, is finally here. The second iteration of the iPad came to life and we’ve been able to get full specs on it.
Just like the first time we heard about the Apple iPad 2, the performance figures remain unchanged.
The iPad 2 gets the same dual-core 1GHz processor A5 chip, Wi-Fi and, optionally, 3G connectivity, dual cameras, and it can record video at 720p.
HDMI output holds one of the most important surprises as Apple is also selling an accessory which serves as a new AV Adapter.
The 30-pin connector lets you connect the tablet to your HDTV and can also mirror the display, something the previous VGA output couldn’t handle.
Apart from helping you with presentations, the Apple iPad 2 also comes with that beloved 3G connectivity which can seriously affect the pricing.
If you go for the iPad WiFi, it’s $499.00 for the 16 GB and you can spend as much as $699.99 for the 64 GB.
When the 3G is your concern pricing gets a bit more steep ranging from $629.99 up to $829.99 for the same spaced versions.
Rather predictably, you’re stuck with AT&T or Verizon and their special plans which can add up to $80 extra per month.
Once you can move past that and get into your true Apple fan boy you’ll be glad to find out that the iPad apps are back and already available.
In the case of the Apple iPad 2 a total of 65.000 apps are already available for the tablet alone.
Sure now, there’s a lot of Apple iPad 2 tech stuff to know about but I’m sure much more people would rather know about how you can pick between the colors.
