We already know 3D technology is the most of the moment thing you can have but the issue with 3D Glasses is still a bit of a puzzle.
More and more toys like TVs and smartphones now offer 3D without requiring glasses and yet Dolby reckon there is still a market for these products.
This is why Dolby just announced their latest creation is a special set of these 3D glasses. Frankly, Dolby’s 3D glasses have to be special for two reasons just to start with.
Firstly, nobody buys gadgets like these unless they are special and secondly, the 3D market is pretty competitive in this section.
So what does Dolby offer the 3D minded user? The new 3D Dolby glasses come with a low(er than others) price, a lightweight construction and RFID tags.
The price will make 3D cinema tickets cheaper but the other two main features of Dolby’s 3D glasses need somewhat more detailed attention.
RFID tags will help cinemas from tracking people who may want to steal the Dolby 3D glasses, or simply charge their credit cards for the cost.
A lightweight construction is clearly aimed at comfort but Dolby went so much further with the ergonomics of this pair of 3D Glasses and their design.
Dolby claims that their 3D glasses will be fit for over 98 percent of people with prescription glasses and that sight won’t be altered by wearing them.
As you’d imagine, there’s a whole lot of blurb along side these features but the bottom line is this, Dolby’s new 3D glasses are here and if I were IMAX or RealD I’d be at least slightly worried about their launch.
