It’s no Superman super phone but the Magic W3 does have quite the gadget party piece. With impressive technology on it the Magic W3 leaves smartphone territory, somewhat.
When you look at the specs the W3 offers you can clearly see it’s mostly a smartphone. And even it’s not the specs of an impressive smartphone.
The processor is a 1.6 GHz Atom unit, the GB of RAM count stops at 1 and the storage space is handled by a 32 GB SSD drive.
While that’s impressive for about three years ago it’s not exactly the most up to date configuration available these days.
But you know what, the gadget that is the Magic W3 does have a special party piece. The operating system this particular device is running is simply described as Windows.
Don’t think it’s Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 or it has anything to do with Nokia either.
As the images show, the Magic W3 runs good old Windows 7 Home Premium. That’s right, the real Windows OS and not some problematic repacked version.
Apart from the Windows 7 Home Premium it’s running, the Magic W3 does actually include some handy features for smartphone world.
Team this relatively poor configuration for a PC with impressive OS and the ability to make phone calls and relay SMS and you’ve got something quite impressive.
The list of features continues with quad band GSM, 3.5G HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a GPS receiver.
At the end of the day the actual smartphone Magic W3 may be a pretty interesting proposition but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it until a price is available.
