Ever since Nokia Lumia 800 has been released to the public in November 2011, a lot of complaints have been filed, complaints related to the weak battery life presented in the Finnish smartphone. After a time of complete silence of the manufacturer regarding this problem, Nokia admitted there is a problem and it quickly released a software update that was intended to solve the battery life issue. Even with this update installed, it seems that Nokia Lumia 800 still suffers from battery issues.
The good news about these battery problems is that the issues presented seems to software related rather than hardware. With a bit of luck, Nokia should fix this inconvenience in early 2012.
After Nokia Lumia 800 users started complaining about the battery issue present in the new handset, Nokia immediately started to perform research of its own, in order to detect these problems and come up with a solution to this problem; this research ended with the creation of an update that was intended to solve all the problems regarding the battery life.
With this update not being satisfying, Nokia still works on a project that should provide access to the full capabilities of Lumia 800’s battery. The new update is expected to be available in early 2012, providing the necessary solution to the problem at hand.
For the costumers that do not want to wait for the update, Nokia provided them with another option: a new handset as a replacement for the Nokia Lumia 800, that should suffice users’ needs until a proper update is available.
In order to find out if a particular Lumia 800 is affected by this battery issue, one can use the diagnostics tool available by tapping ##634# on the targeted device. Simply select ‘Battery Status’ and see the results: all should be in order if the charge capacity is more than 1000 mAh.
