Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update For Samsung Galaxy Devices 2012

In the recent years, Samsung expended a lot, especially in the world of Android based smartphones. With the release of  Samsung Galaxy Nexus, a new and improved Android system followed: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Simply because this operating system alone improves the overall performance of a smartphone, costumers are eager to get Ice Cream Sandwich up and running for other smartphone flagships released by Samsung.

As it turns out, the first smartphones that will receive the Android 4.0 platform update will be the Galaxy devices. The first confirmed device to receive Ice Cream Sandwich will be Galaxy S II, information confirmed by the manufacturer.

Samsung stated that in the first quarter of 2012 will be the expected date for Android 4.0 to be available for Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. Other smartphones that will benefit from this update will be Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy R. Since Samsung has Ice Cream Sandwich running with Galaxy Nexus already, costumers expect the update to be quite soon, around January of 2012. Other upgradeable Samsung devices include Galaxy Tabs 10.1, 8.9, 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, as stated by Samsung on their blog.

Since Samsung is more interested in upgrading the more recent devices to Ice Cream Sandwich, older ones such as Galaxy S, Galaxy Y or Galaxy Ace may not be benefit from the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

One aspect is clear: with the introduction of Android 4.0 to multiple Samsung devices in the first quarter of 2012, owners of such a device will experience certain advantages, such as the better multi-tasking, NFC support, WiFi hotspot and the new feature, FaceUnlock.

With the confirmation of Android 4.0 ICS upgrade for multiple Samsung devices, the only inconvenience is the time one should have to wait in order to acquire this platform. It cannot come too soon!
