How To Repair Windows Problems (FixWin)

A couple of days ago we presented you Quick Fix, a small utility meant to help you fix some very common Windows problems. Today we bring FixWin to your attention, another utility which can come in very handy when facing some weird Windows problems. But this one goes even further, helping you fix no more than 50 Windows Vista and/or 7 problems.

According to its developers, FixWin has been tested on both versions: 32 bit and 64 bit Vista and 7. Still, it might not work if you have a modded version of Windows (the kind done by apps like vLite).

OK, before going into technical details, let’s set some simple rules for using this app:

  1. First of all, create a Restore Point, just in case things go wrong. To do this, click the Create System Restore Pointbutton in the app main window.

Start repairing Windows problems by creating a restore point

  2. Second, it is advisable to perform a file system check by clicking the respective button. Often, Windows problems are caused by corrupt files or file systems.

Checking the file system can be useful when fixing Windows problems

  3. Third, do not apply more than one fix at a time, as these fixes are in fact registry modifications. And the last thing you want is to mess up your Windows registry by applying more fixes at the same time. Although restoring is easy, you might want to check whether the Windows problem is gone before making too many changes to your system.

That being said, let’s see what this app can do. And, as a picture is worth a thousand words, we’ll let the pictures speak.
