How To Scan Facebook For Threats

With the great success of Facebook and the continuosly increasing number of people using the social network, it’s no wonder that safety on Facebook becomes one of the users’ priorities. So, if you want to stay away from suspicious links and users that will only infect your messages, timeline as well as your friends’ walls, then here’s something you can do about that.

Norton comes up with a tool that will help you scan suspicious users and links and thus combat threats. Installing the tool on your Facebook account takes almost no time and it’s definitely worth having it. So, here are the steps you will have to follow in order to keep away from threats on Facebook:

1. The first thing to do is obviously to login to your Facebook account. After you do this, you’ll have to open Norton Safe Web for Facebook in your web browser.

2.  Now, you will have to allow the Norton app to scan your Facebook account.

If you have the bad luck to deal with such links, then these will be marked by an exclamation mark (!) or by an X. In this case, you will need to take action and remove the threats.

Some of your friends may not be aware of the fact that they post and share malicious links on Facebook. Make sure you let them know about those links. This way they will know about these links and they will delete them.

4. If you want the Norton app to scan all your future links on your wall, then just click on the Enable Auto-Scan button and if it’s necessary allow the Norton application permission.
