How To Remove Scratches From Apple’s MacBook Pro

If you’re the owner of a MacBook Pro, then in time you’ll deal with several issues. Some of them are more serious while others can easily be fixed. One of these issues is related to scratches. You can fix them but this depends on where they are located and on how deep they are.

If you’ve scratched your MacBook Pro on its aluminum surface, then there might not be too much to do about it. The soft scratches can be repaired if you just polish them lightly. You can even remove the scratches on the LCD screen. All you need is to use some glass polishing drops. Even so, great attention is required if you don’t want to make things worse. So, here’s what you have to do in order to remove scratches on the MacBook Pro:

1. To get started, you’ll need metal polisher and microfiber cloth.

2. Once you’ve made sure you go those, you’ll have to turn off your MacBook Pro and remove the power cable. Let the computer to cool down for a couple of minutes.

3. Now lightly wet that microfiber cloth and ring it out in order to remove the water in excess. To remove the dust or dirt, you’ll have to wipe gently the exterior of the computer. Make sure you clean the keyboard and the screen. After you’ve cleaned it, use a dry microfiber cloth to dry the MacBook Pro.

4. You’ll then have to put a few drops of the glass polishing compound on a dry microfiber cloth. Use this to clean the metal surface and the screen. Make sure you use small and gentle motions. Once you’re done with that, check and see if the area you’ve been rubbing has the appearance you want.

5. In case you’re happy with the way that area looks, you’ll now have to remove the scratch. To do that, you’ll have to rub the polishing compound. If it’s the aluminum area you’re working on, then you’ll have to use the grain of metal. Check every 10 seconds to see if you’ve made any progress or not. If the scratch is a deep one, then you’ll only be able to minimize it and not to remove it completely.

6. If there’s any polishing compound left after this process, remove it by using a clean and damp microfiber cloth to wipe the polished area.

7. Make sure your MacBook Pro is dried before reconnecting the power cable and turn it on.

You can also choose to hide the scratch by using a paint pen that uses silver ink or a scratch cover pen that is used on automobiles.

You should be aware of the fact that this repair might make things worse. The scratch repairs are not guaranteed and you have to know that you do this at your own risk.
