Have you ever wondered whether it is possible or not to save all your Facebook data to your computer? If you have, then let me tell you that Facebook allows you to do this and thus avoid Facebook data loss that may occur through an accidental account deletion or a hacking job.
Facebook has become a part of our lives and a digital diary and I’m sure that if you’re an avid user of this social network, then you wouldn’t like to get all your Facebook data lost. Therefore, Facebook helps you keeping all your messages, photos, status updates and wall posts safe.
There’s a built-in tool the social network has created to help you download all your Facebook information to your computer. Here are the steps you have to follow in order to save all your Facebook data:
1. First of all, login to your Facebook account and then go to Home>Account Settings.
2. You’ll get to the Account Settings page and you’ll see a Download a copy of your Facebook data link. Click on it.
3. Now you will have to click on the Start My Archive button. You will then be notified that when the backup is ready, Facebook will send you the download link to the e-mail adress your Facebook account is associated with.
4. You will have to wait while Facebook generates your archive and when this is done, you will get the download link to your e-mail adress mentioned earlier.
5. When you receive this link, you will have to enter your Facebook password. Then click the Download button and the backup zip file containing all your Facebook data will start downloading.
6. To see all your Facebook content, you will have to open up the index.html that is located in the backup zip file. And that’s about all!
It is advisable to do this on a regular basis if you don’t want to deal with Facebook data loss.
