How To Get Started With Google Music

The Google Music free service is now available in U.S. to all those who have a Google account. No invitation is needed anymore, so you can now enjoy Google Music.Therefore, if you’re a musicoholic, then here’s what you have to do in order to enjoy the free music service on your PC:

1.The first thing to do is to login to Google Music with your Google account. After this, donwload and install Music Manager. This way, you will have the possibility to upload your favorite songs to Google Music.

2. Now launch Music Manager and use your Google account to login. Once you do that, choose the location of the songs you want to upload.

Upload MusicThe formats supported are WMA, MP3, FLAC, AAC and OGG (from which FLAC, OGG and AAC files will be converted to MP3 files) and you can upload up to 20,ooo songs.

3. To listen to your uploaded songs, you’ll just have to login to Google Music from Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 7+. Your library is on the left of the page and the player controls at the bottom of it.

Play Music Go for the keyboard shortcuts control if you are more comfortable with that. To play or pause music, just hit the space bar. Use the right arrow to go to the next track and the left one to get to the previous. To delete a song, just hit the Delete key. To search forward in the current track, you will have to use the Shift and right arrow keys combination and to search back in the current track, go for Shift and left arrow. To get to all the keyboard shortcuts, press ? .

4. In case you want to enrich your music collection with new songs, then you can do that by going to the Android Market music section and purchase them. Go to your favorite artist, album, songs and listen to the full+length preview. If you want to buy that song/album, then just click on its price and thus start the checkout. You will have to add your payment method in case you haven’t done that before.

All the songs you buy will be part of your  Google Music library but won’t enter the 20,000 songs  limit list. Donwload the songs you have purchased by using the Music Manager. These will be in the 320kbps MP3 format.

5. If you want to share one of these songs with your  Google+ circles, just select it and then go to the menu button and hit Share Song. Those you will share the song with will be given permission to have a one full play of the song or the album.

Now if you want to use this free service on a mobile device as well, here are the steps you will have to follow:

1. The first thing you will have to do is to go to Android Market and get the Google Music App.

2. Click the triangular menu button that is next to the track or the album title in order to make that track available offline.

If there are several albums or songs that you want to make available offline, then you will have to hit the menu button of your Android powered device. Now choose Make Available Offline and then check the boxes next the songs you want to make availablle offline from the new list that will appear.

Owners of iOS4+ devices can access the Google Music free service just by using their browser and go to music.google.com.

3. Buy a song or an album by going to the Android Market and hit the “Buy” button next to that song or album. You will have to use your Google Wallet account and enter the payment method. Once you get the update to Android Market, you will be able to share music from Android device as well.  You will have the possibility to choose from the new playlist called “free and puchased”. That’s should be about all!
