Deleting a photo or two or five is nothing complicated but when you want to erase everything you’ve ever posted on your Facebook profile, then things get a little more difficult. So, here are the steps one must follow in order to delete Facebook posts and comments with Exfoliate:
1. The first thing to do is to get Exfoliate from Android Market and install the application.
2. Now you will have to choose which data you want to delete. Exfoliate is pretty well organized so you can select the data to be deleted according to content and to its age.
In case something doesn’t work, then you can try again and check Background Override.
3. The next thing to do after you’re done with the Exfoliate settings is to login to your Facebook account. You don’t have to worry about your e-mail and password as Exfoliate won’t retain the log-in data.
4. The Exfoliate app then needs to be authorized as Facebook application. You will have to give the app several permissions as you’ll see but this is nothing unusual if we’re to take into account the great number of things it has to do.
5. The button that’s at the bottom of the screen will allow you to start Exfoliate.
6. You must think very carefully when you initiate the Exfoliate process because if you remember that there’s a picture you don’t want to delete actually and you don’t press the Cancel button in time, then that picture will be deleted forever.
Therefore, there’s the possibility to stop certain deletions since Exfoliate will start to remove the oldest data. If you change your mind about a certain comment or post, you can hit the Cancel button and hope Exfoliate hasn’t deleted that yet.
7. This process might take a while if there’s plenty of data to be removed. Therefore, it is advised to let Exfoliate do its job overnight.
You have to think twice before using Exfoliate. As many other applications, the changes made are irrevocable.
