Those of you who use Mac OS X are probably acquainted with the Spaces utility. This one allows users to create new desktops on their computers. For instance, you can create a desktop just for your work, one for Facebook and another one for iTunes. Thus, you will be able to focus on your work without being distracted by other things like the Facebook chatting. Moreover, with this utility you will no longer have to minimize several windows to get to your iTunes for example.
What’s great is that this utility is now available for non-OS X users, too. nSpaces gives you the possibility to create up to four desktops and switch between them. You will be able to keep your windows as well as your desktop organized.
You can choose different wallpapers for each space taking into account the profile of that specific desktop. Only .jpeg and .bmp files can be set as wallpapers. Browse for the images you want to set as wallpapers and there you go.
What makes nSpaces different from other software of this kind is the fact that you can set passwords for each of these newly created desktops.
Once you’ve set your password, the window will look like the one in the image below. And in case you have to go and thus leave your workstation, lock your computer by pressing the Windows key+L.
nSpaces also gives you the possibility to switch hotkeys .
nSpaces helps you keep your windows organized and multiply your desktop as well as set passwords for each desktop. Since it’s free, why not giving it a try?
