The officially highest rated PSP game of all time (according to Gamespot) Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars has just been released on iPhone and iPod Touch. Already available on the PSP and Nintendo DS platforms, the game has just been released on App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/grand-theft-auto-chinatown-wars/id344186162?mt=8.

The game has been brilliantly ported from the console versions, with a decent graphical quality, but most important, offering the experience of pure GTA gameplay. The motion of the city is amazing, fulfilled by the real time clock that renders a dynamic lighting effect.
You will have a computer you can check email on, a garage to stash your cars, the GPS system with the map of Liberty City and all sorts of stats you are accustomed to from the epic previous GTA games.

The story presents protagonist Huang Lee whose father had been recently murdered, in a mission to deliver an ancient sword to his uncle Kenny. Entering the possession of the item is supposed to ensure retrieving control of the Triad Gangs of the Liberty City by the hero’s family.

The control is provided by virtual buttons and a joystick that handle all the driving, running, shooting, and other actions in game.

This release brings nothing new, nothing revolutionary nor a great story, but hours and hours of pure fun for the iPod and iPhone users. And that is worth the small fee $9,99 Apple is charging for the game.
