Dragon Age II – A Quick Review (Warning! May contain spoilers!)
Dragon Age II, a game set in the same mythical realm as Origins, gives you control over Hawke, a male/female character created and customized as the gamer pleases. Create a mage, warrior or rogue and fight your way to the top in your quest of becoming a legendary champion. Your ultimate goal is to protect the city of Kirkwall, in which the game is set, and prevent the Darkspawn from destroying it.
Having a linear framed story, including flashbacks, the events tell us how Hawke became the city’s champion. The flashbacks are narrated by one of his/her old companions, Varric, which focus the entire game around the hero’s path to power. Set in and around one city, some players might complain the game could get repetitive. And developers only made things worse by reusing textures and models for various environments, such as dungeons and buildings.
There have been many changes from the first game, some which left the fans disappointed. The dialogue wheel – inspired by the one in Mass Effect 2, was one of the better additions, allowing the players to have better and precise interactions. However, the combat system did not have as much success with some of the critics, which could not entirely classify it in either the RPG or action genres. Spells, attributes and skills represent another important improvement, all categorized in a new and improved skill tree.
Retrieving the CD Key / Serial Number
Method 1 – Automatic Search
By using several free applications, you be able to search the entire registry. If your don’t get any search results on the first try, you should at least run it two more times – just to be sure. Choose one of the free programs below, download it, install it, start it, and search by clicking the scan button you see on the user interface. If your Dragon Age II CD Key is found, be sure to write it down or save it in a secure location. If, by any chance, your searches will return no results, go to the second method.
Method 2 – Find The Serial Number Manually
To manually search for Dragon Age II’s CD Key, simply follow the next steps to browse the registry and retrieve the information you need. The tutorial is aimed at advanced computer users, but if you are careful enough, you will find what you need even as a beginner.
- 1.Press Windows+R OR click on the Start Menu.
- 2. Enter “regedit” in the text box (without quotation marks).
- 3. The registry is now opened. On the left side of the windows, you should have several folders. Locate and expand “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” (to expand, click on the small arrow or plus sign on the left).
- 4. Find and expand the “Software” folder.
- 5. Scroll down until you see the “BIOWARE” folder. Inside it you should find another one called “Dragon Age II”.
- 6. Click on the Dragon Age II folder. Now take a look on the right side of the window. Find something that makes any reference to the CD key, such as cd key, license, code, serial number, etc. There you will find your Serial Number.
Make sure you don’t misplace your CD Key again. Write it down and put it somewhere safe, or store it on your computer. Either way, make sure you don’t lose it, as you will not find it if the game is uninstalled or if you format your HDD.
