By We’ve covered World of Tanks with a decent amount of public interest and as much as I like it, the general agreement is that it was one of the finest surprises of 2011.
For a change though, let’s talk about a game that’s not, under any circumstances, a surprise. In fact, Blizzard’s Diablo III is a game that’s being looked forward to by millions and millions of people.
Sadly though, like many of Blizzard’s big production titles, a release date for Diablo III was never officially stated and thus all those unhappy folks have to wait on the edge of their seats.

A good sign about an upcoming release came with the big stores such as Amazon and GameStop collecting pre-orders. Pre-order options are a general good sign and prove that a new game enters the final stages of development.
Pre-orders aren’t good enough though. There’s nothing as good as an actual release date which is why I have some excellent news.
There’s been a leakage in release dates coming from a smaller but still trustworthy online shop. It’s called PCGarage and they say that it’s going to be available in 156 days.
Judging from today’s date and adding up those numbers it would mean Blizzard plans to release Diablo 3 on December the 15th, 2011.

It makes a decent amount of sense, giving Blizzard sufficient time to fine-tune the game to a point where it’s as good as they deem necessary and it would also make for great circumstances to release the game.
By this schedule, a release for Diablo 3 would be a year and a week after the infamous World of Warcraft: Cataclysm update.
Careful though, accurate or not, the pricing stated on the website would have you thinking twice about pre-orders. Whereas a pre-ordered third installation in the Diablo franchise has a sticker of 60 dollars, the actual release is slated to come in at 80.
While this is not much more than a leak, it’s still worth taking notice mostly because us Diablo fans have been on the edge of our seats for more than a decade. I think we owe it to ourselves to keep in touch with everything Diablo III.
