By Diablo III is a well-known RPG, part of the franchise with the same name. The game has been in development for several years, yet the official release date is still unknown. Moreover, gamers are anxiously waiting for the Diablo III beta testing, currently available only for “friends and family”, in which they will be able to play the first half of Act One. The most recent update is the skill calculator that went live in the past few days, and even if it cannot be compared to the gaming experience, it can give you a taste of what to expect.
If you don’t know already, Diablo III can be played with five different classes, and the way the new skill system has been built, you can obtain a large number of variations for each class. The first thing you’ll notice, is the two areas of the skill tree, one for the 6 active skill slots, and another for 3 passive ones. You only start out with 2 of the active skills, and unlock more after certain levels. Each skill can add different powers to your build, and the combinations you make will have the ultimate impact on the strength of your character.

To use the online skill calculator, you must first pick one of the five classes. Then, by clicking on any slot you will get an entire list of the usable skills. Same as the slots, each skill has its own level at which it becomes available. The active skills can also be tweaked with several runestones which can have a huge impact on the skills’ behavior. However, the developers didn’t bother to give us the entire leveling up diagram for characters, as the skill calculator only goes as high as level 30, while characters in the game can reach level 60.
All in all, this is another sneak peek we got from Blizzard, to keep the game alive and the gamers closely following Diablo III. Go experiment with the calculator, and even share your build on Facebook. Create your perfect character while waiting for the game, and test it out in action when it is released to see if you actually did a good job.
