Christmas is on its way, and with it getting closer, more and more holiday apps are making their way onto Android Market and iTunes. Outfit 7, well known for its interactive animal apps, recently released Talking Santa Meets Ginger. For Android this is just a standalone app, while for those who have iOS devices it is available as an in-app purchase for the company’s older release, Talking Santa.

Tickle, poke and make pranks, just like in the other talking animals apps. You can easily record videos within the app of you playing, then upload them on your Facebook or Youtube account, or share them via e-mail.

Set in the mall, Ginger is about to meet Santa for the first time, yet he apparently doesn’t understand that naughty children don’t get presents as he plays tricks on Santa with every occasion you’ll give him. To get going, press one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Each creates a special animation, making Ginger give Santa a ticking bomb present or set his hat on fire. Moreover, you can hear a train whistle blow, or make Ginger annoy Santa in even more ways.

Besides the obvious buttons you can see on screen, there are also several actions you can do by tapping various places on your touchscreen. Poke, slap or tickle Santa and Ginger to get various reactions, poke the train to make it go off the tracks, and poke the tree or shake your phone to hear Christmas bells.

All in all, this isn’t that different from their other apps, as it just ads new content and has the same basic functionality. Talking Santa Meets Ginger will surely make you feel like you have a standalone app, even if you play it on your iPhone.
