There have been other games where you get a character, usually a dummy, and tons of weapons to torture it with in such spaces called testing chambers. But when you dress it up a bit, just like Kick the Boss does, you get a violent, immoral game with no educational purposes. Nevertheless, a game like this turns to the emotional side of the player and the fact he can longer stand his boss, resulting in an app with a minor stress relief side effect.
First of all, you get to choose the character you want to torture in Kick the Boss. There might be small chance the provided mannequins look nothing like the actual boss you have in your office. Just get the one which resembles him best, or the one who might calm you the most after you see him beaten up.
Once you choose your perfect subject, browse through the large variety of weapons Kick the Boss has to offer. Guns, explosives and sharp tools are just some examples of what you will find in the game’s store. Moreover, each of those is upgradable to three different levels which are guaranteed to inflict more pain.
Finally, you can start your little torturing project. Kick the Boss gives you four different office backgrounds to suit your excruciating mood. Whichever is your weapon of choice, your session will be enhanced by a physics simulated environment in which your boss of choice will make you feel like you’re actually up against the real one.
There is an enormous industry for inappropriate games out there and they always thrived on concepts like the one Kick the Boss approaches. However, there is a reason games like this find their success as quickly as they find themselves abandoned. People find the game, like it, give it a high rating, get bored of it and finally forget it. But tomorrow another Kick the Boss, maybe even a better one, will be released.
